BITEC is Bangkok's exhibition centre on the Bang Na–Trat side of the city and the closest major venue to Suvarnabhumi. Your driver can drop you at the right hall entrance, at BITEC Live or at your hotel along Sukhumvit.

The short run from Suvarnabhumi

No other large Bangkok venue is this close to the main airport. Your driver heads west on the Bang Na–Trat road or the Burapha Withi expressway above it and usually reaches BITEC in 25 to 45 minutes. From Don Mueang it is about 40 km across the city, which can take over an hour in the afternoon. Taxis and private cars set guests down in front of halls EH 98, EH 99, EH 100 and EH 103; note your hall in the booking so the driver picks the nearest entrance instead of circling the grounds.

Autumn: BITEC's busiest months

From September to November one large fair follows the next. Typical dates, which can shift from year to year:

  • Thailand LAB INTERNATIONAL – laboratory, biotech and chemistry, usually early September in Hall 102
  • MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND – medical technology, every second September
  • Thailand Marine & Offshore Expo and Oil & Gas Thailand – co-located in mid-October
  • Powerex Asia – power generation, grids and storage, mid-October together with Electric Asia
  • Pet Fair South East Asia – the regional pet industry, usually late October
  • COSMEX Bangkok and in-cosmetics Asia – cosmetics manufacturing and ingredients, side by side in early November
  • Future Build Asia – building materials and construction technology, usually November
  • METALEX – machine tools and metalworking, usually the second half of November

BITEC in brief

  • Exhibition halls EH 98 to EH 106 plus the newer BITEC Buri wing
  • BITEC Live for concerts, e-sports and launches
  • Skywalk with travelators from BTS Bang Na
  • Peak trade fair season from September to November

More shows across the year

In June the halls belong to ProPak Asia, the processing and packaging fair. DigiTech ASEAN Thailand, a digital technology and AI show, has appeared on BITEC's calendar, but recent editions in November were held at IMPACT, so check the venue before you book. Spring brings engineering, plastics and HVAC fairs, which keeps hotels in Bang Na busy for much of the year.

BITEC Live: concerts and late exits

BITEC Live is the newer live entertainment venue in the BITEC Buri wing, used for concerts, e-sports tournaments, product launches and corporate functions. After a show thousands of people leave at once and the BTS skywalk and taxi lanes fill up within minutes. If you have booked a ride back to your hotel or to the airport, agree on a pick-up point a little away from the main exit and allow for a wait.

Where visitors stay

Bang Na itself has business hotels within a short drive of the halls, and the BTS connects BITEC with On Nut, Phra Khanong and the hotels further along Sukhumvit. Exhibitors with booth material and heavy sample cases often prefer a minivan or minibus with up to 19 seats from the airport, which also suits teams arriving on the same flight.

From Bang Na to the coast

BITEC sits on the road that leads east, which makes it a natural starting point for the drive to Pattaya: about 125 to 130 km, usually 1 h 45 min to 2 h 15 min. Our guide to the transfer from Bang Na to Pattaya explains the route. Visitors from industrial fairs often combine the trip with factory visits in Chonburi and Rayong; see transfers to the EEC industrial estates.
