ProPak Asia is the processing and packaging fair that fills BITEC in Bang Na every June. Suvarnabhumi is only about 20 to 25 km away, so you can land in the morning and walk the halls the same afternoon.
ProPak Asia shows the whole chain behind packaged goods: processing machinery for food and drinks, filling and bottling, packaging lines, labelling and printing, cold chain, laboratory and quality testing, and equipment for pharmaceutical production. Buyers come from food factories, beverage makers, contract packers and cosmetics producers across Southeast Asia. With dozens of national and themed zones, the fair occupies most of BITEC, so a plan of the halls helps before you arrive.
Your driver takes the Bang Na–Trat road from Suvarnabhumi and usually reaches the halls in 25 to 45 minutes. From Don Mueang the trip is around 40 km across the city. Note your hall or the entrance you need in the booking so the drop-off is right; the BITEC page lists the halls and access points.
June is the start of the rainy season in Bangkok. Mornings are often dry, but heavy afternoon showers can slow traffic on Sukhumvit and the Bang Na–Trat road for an hour. If you have an evening flight, leave BITEC earlier than you would in the dry season. Our guide to transfers in the rainy and peak seasons has more tips for June travel.
Food producers often visit both big food-industry fairs on one trip: THAIFEX – Anuga Asia at IMPACT in late May and ProPak Asia at BITEC a few weeks later. The two venues are at opposite ends of Bangkok, more than an hour apart, so move hotels between the fairs rather than commuting across the city every day.
Bang Na has a cluster of business hotels within a few minutes of the halls, and they are the first to fill once exhibitors have confirmed their space. The next option is Sukhumvit between On Nut and Phra Khanong, a few BTS stops from Bang Na with the covered skywalk at the end. Visitors who fly in for a single fair day sometimes stay at a hotel near Suvarnabhumi instead; our page on Suvarnabhumi airport hotels shows the options and how the short ride works.
Machine builders often send several engineers to staff the booth, and visiting delegations from food companies travel as a group. A minibus with up to 19 seats brings everyone from the airport to the hotel together, with space for laptops and brochure boxes. For regular hotel-to-hall rides over several days, see our business transfers.
After four days in the halls, many visitors head to the coast. Pattaya is roughly 125 to 130 km from BITEC, usually just under two hours, and June is a quieter month in the resort with more space on the beaches. You can book the ride from your Bang Na hotel on the last fair evening or the next morning, and a separate transfer from Pattaya back to Suvarnabhumi for your flight home, so the whole trip runs on fixed prices you know in advance.
