A night near Suvarnabhumi makes sense after a late landing or before a dawn departure. The airport hotels are spread over Lat Krabang, King Kaeo Road and Bang Na, and a private transfer links them with the terminal, Bangkok or the coast at the hour that suits your flight.
If your flight lands close to midnight and you head for Pattaya or Hua Hin the next morning, an airport hotel saves you a late drive into Bangkok and back out again. The same applies before an early departure. Many of these hotels run their own shuttle buses, but often only at set times or on request by phone. A private transfer is worth it when you travel with a family and lots of luggage, when the shuttle does not run at your hour, or when the next leg goes straight on to Bangkok or the coast.
Lat Krabang is the district on the airport's northern side, with Lat Krabang Road as its main artery, its own Airport Rail Link station, a large industrial estate and the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). Many business travellers to the factories here stay overnight close by.
From here the drive to the terminal usually takes ten to fifteen minutes, and the road to Bangkok or the motorway towards Pattaya is reached without crossing the city.
West of the airport, King Kaeo Road and its side sois in the Racha Thewa area have the largest choice of simple to mid-range airport hotels, plus a resort on a golf course further south.
Some of these hotels sit deep in residential sois; the exact hotel name in the booking form helps the driver find the entrance at night.
South-west of the airport, Bang Na is home to the BITEC exhibition centre and the Bang Na–Trat Road, with the elevated Burapha Withi expressway running above it towards Chonburi. For trade fairs there, the BITEC transfer page explains the route. South-east of the terminal, in Bang Sao Thong, lies Divalux Resort & Spa Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, a resort-style hotel set in quieter surroundings, a short drive from the terminal.
For a morning departure from the hotel, choose a pickup time that leaves enough room for check-in, security and immigration; on busy mornings the queues at Suvarnabhumi can be long. Arriving guests are met in the arrivals hall as usual, with up to 90 minutes of waiting time after landing included. Onward from an airport hotel, the transfer to Pattaya takes about one and a half to two hours, and the city hotels are covered on the Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok page. The fixed price for the whole vehicle appears in the booking form before you pay.
Not for arrival – it is connected to the terminal by an underground walkway. A private transfer is useful from the hotel onwards, for example to Pattaya or Bangkok.
Hotel shuttles often run only at set times or on request. A private transfer leaves exactly when you need it and can go straight on to Bangkok or the coast.
Most are within about 5 to 15 km, which means 10 to 25 minutes by car depending on the soi and the time of day.
Yes, hotels on Lat Krabang Road are close to both the industrial estate and the airport, so short business trips work without going into Bangkok.
