Nong Nooch Tropical Garden lies off Sukhumvit Road south of Na Jomtien, and its grounds also hold the Nong Nooch International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICE). Book a private transfer from the airport to the garden, the exhibition halls or a hotel nearby.

A garden and a trade fair venue in one place

Nong Nooch started as a private plantation and has grown into one of the largest botanical parks in Southeast Asia. Visitors walk or ride trams through French and Italian-style gardens, a valley of cycads and long rows of palms. For trade visitors the park has a second role: the Nong Nooch International Convention and Exhibition Center, known as NICE, holds industrial and specialist fairs in halls set inside the grounds. Both share the main entrance from Sukhumvit Road, so tell us whether you need the garden gate or the exhibition hall.

Getting there from the airports

From Suvarnabhumi the route follows Motorway 7 to the Pattaya area and continues south on Sukhumvit Road past Jomtien and Na Jomtien; count on roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. From Don Mueang the crossing of Bangkok makes it longer. The quickest option is U-Tapao, only about 25 km further down the coast, which is why exhibitors on domestic flights often choose it. Times and vehicle options for the coast route are on the U-Tapao to Pattaya page.

What Nong Nooch offers

  • Botanical park of around 200 hectares with themed gardens
  • Large collections of palms, cycads and orchids
  • Daily Thai cultural show on the garden grounds
  • NICE exhibition halls inside the park for trade fairs

Visiting NICE as an exhibitor or trade visitor

During fairs, the access road and car parks fill up in the morning when visitor buses arrive. Booking an arrival the day before the opening avoids that rush and gives exhibitors time to check their stand. If you bring sample cases or display parts, pick a van rather than a car. Visitors who combine several fairs in Bangkok and Pattaya will find the halls in the capital on the Bangkok trade fair overview, while factory visits in the industrial estates along the coast are easy to add on the way back to the airport.

Where to stay nearby

The park has its own resort rooms, but the choice is limited during fairs. Na Jomtien and the southern end of Jomtien are the nearest beach areas, 10 to 20 minutes up Sukhumvit Road. Bang Saray, a quieter fishing village with seafood restaurants, lies about the same distance to the south. Both make sense if you want a short morning drive to NICE; Central Pattaya is fine too but adds traffic. See Suvarnabhumi to Na Jomtien for hotels in that stretch.

A day at the garden

Leisure visitors usually spend half a day or more: the gardens, the cultural show and the viewpoints need time, and the midday heat slows everyone down. Arrive in the morning, plan breaks in the shaded areas and take water. The Nong Nooch guide describes the different zones. The nearby Khao Chi Chan Buddha mountain fits well into the same afternoon.

Families and larger groups

With prams, child seats and day bags, a minivan gives more room than a sedan. Child seats are available on request; enter the age of each child in the form. Groups of up to 19 people can travel together in a minibus, which helps when a company sends a whole delegation to the fair. For the ride back, agree on the car park at the main entrance as meeting point; on busy fair days the driver finds you there more easily than outside a particular hall.
