North of Dolphin Roundabout, Pattaya turns into a quieter strip of beach resorts and old fishing lanes. Book your private transfer to Naklua, Wong Amat Beach or Terminal 21 and your driver takes you to the hotel door.
Dolphin Roundabout is the hinge. South of it lie Beach Road and the busy centre; north of it, Naklua Road runs up the coast past Wong Amat Beach, the Naklua market and the fishing piers towards the Sanctuary of Truth. North Pattaya Road links the roundabout with Sukhumvit Road and the motorway, so this is one of the faster parts of town to reach from the airport: there is no need to cross the centre. Many visitors use Naklua as a base and dip into central Pattaya for evenings. A broader comparison of the districts is in our guide Pattaya is more than one destination.
Terminal 21 Pattaya stands right at Dolphin Roundabout and is the most recognisable landmark in the north. It works well as a drop-off if you are meeting friends or staying in a condo nearby, and it is a common pick-up point for the return trip. Hotels in the North Pattaya blocks between the roundabout and Soi 6, such as Grande Centre Point or Dusit Thani, are covered on our Central Pattaya hotels page. For a condo or rental flat, add the building name and tower to the booking, as many North Pattaya high-rises share an entrance road.
Wong Amat is a curved bay of its own, separated from Pattaya Bay by the small headland of Cape Dara. The sea is usually calmer and the beach less crowded.

The Sanctuary of Truth, the large teak temple on the cape at the northern end of Naklua, is a short drive from all of these.
The Naklua Walk & Eat Festival is organised by Pattaya City and usually runs on weekend evenings from December into January at Naklua market, between the police station and the long bridge. Stalls sell seafood, local dishes and regional products, and some evenings have free concerts. On those nights the market lanes fill up; if your hotel is nearby, an afternoon arrival avoids the crowds, and for the festival itself it is easier to be dropped at the edge of the market than in the middle.
From Suvarnabhumi, Motorway 7 brings you almost to North Pattaya Road, which makes Naklua the quickest Pattaya district to reach. From Don Mueang the drive is longer because it crosses Bangkok first; see Don Mueang to Pattaya. From U-Tapao you arrive from the south and pass the whole length of Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road before turning off at North Pattaya.
Yes, Wong Amat Beach is in Naklua, the northern part of Pattaya City, just north of Dolphin Roundabout and Terminal 21.
