Coming to Pattaya for a planned treatment, a check-up or to visit a relative in hospital? A private car takes you from the airport straight to the hospital entrance or to your hotel nearby. It is a regular passenger transfer, not a medical transport.

Important: this is not an ambulance

The vehicles booked on this portal are ordinary cars, minivans and minibuses with a professional driver. There is no medical staff, no stretcher and no medical equipment on board, and the driver cannot provide care during the journey. The transfer is suitable for people who can sit in a normal vehicle seat for two hours. In a medical emergency, call 1669 instead, Thailand's national medical emergency number for ambulances. It is not the number of any of the hospitals listed here.

Hospitals and where they are

Pattaya has several private hospitals with international patient departments, plus a large naval hospital further south. Enter the hospital name as the destination; your driver stops at the main entrance unless you note a different building.

  • Bangkok Hospital Pattaya – on Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya, close to where the road from Bangkok enters the city, so the drive from the airport is slightly shorter than to the beach.
  • Pattaya International Hospital – in Central Pattaya, a few minutes from Beach Road, surrounded by hotels of every category.
  • Pattaya Memorial Hospital – on Central Pattaya Road, the main street between Beach Road and Sukhumvit.
  • Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital – in Sattahip, about 30 to 40 km south of Pattaya; from U-Tapao airport the drive to Sattahip is short.

Planned treatment and medical tourism

Many visitors combine a holiday with a dental treatment, a health check-up or a planned procedure. Book the transfer once the hospital has confirmed your appointment, and keep its contact details at hand. If your appointment is on the day of arrival, leave plenty of buffer: immigration at Suvarnabhumi and the drive to Pattaya together can take three hours or more. Most patients go to the hotel first and to the hospital the next morning; for that day trip within Pattaya a local taxi is usually enough.

Travelling with a companion

A relative or friend often travels along to help with luggage, paperwork and the stay. Count every person in the booking form so the vehicle class fits. If the companion arrives on a different flight, book a separate pickup rather than waiting at the airport for hours. Visiting a family member who is already in hospital? Then you can also choose the hospital as the destination and go to the hotel later.

Wheelchair, walker and mobility aids

A folding wheelchair or a walker travels in the luggage area; please note it in the remarks, together with whether the passenger can stand up and take a few steps on their own. With bulky aids or several suitcases, a minivan leaves more room and is easier to get into thanks to its sliding door. The guide on preparing an accessible transfer lists the details worth sorting out before departure.

Back to the airport after treatment

Ask your doctor when you are allowed to travel and fly, and book the return only once that date is clear. Pickup is possible at the hospital or at your hotel. Allow generous time, as the drive from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi can be slower in the afternoon than in the morning.
