Chatuchak is best known for its huge weekend market and the transport hub at Mo Chit. From here there are several ways to Pattaya, with the private transfer the most comfortable.
01Route and travel time to Pattaya
From Chatuchak in central Bangkok the drive runs via the city expressway onto Motorway 7 (Bang Na–Chon Buri) and on to Pattaya. Allow around two hours for about 130 kilometres, depending on inner-city traffic. The private transfer has a fixed price from $53, set before booking. Instead of changing vehicles, you travel with no stops right to your hotel in Pattaya.
02Pick-up in Chatuchak
Pick-up is directly at your address in Chatuchak, at the hotel lobby or at a home address by the building entrance. The driver welcomes you with a name sign; enter the exact pick-up address and the destination address in Pattaya when booking. A short buffer for departure is allowed for.
03Comparing your travel options
From Chatuchak there are basically several ways to reach Pattaya: the public intercity bus from the Ekkamai or Mo Chit terminals, sometimes a train with an onward connection, or the private door-to-door transfer. Bus and train are cheap, but first require getting to the terminal, fixed departure times and usually another taxi to the hotel in Pattaya. The private transfer picks you up directly in Chatuchak and takes you to your accommodation without changing, which is especially convenient with luggage or in a group.
