Ko Larn is the best-known island off Pattaya, a good 7 kilometres offshore. Six beaches from Tawaen to Nual invite you to swim and snorkel, and the water is much clearer than at the city beach.
Getting there
The ferries leave from Bali Hai Pier in the south of Pattaya; the crossing takes around 45 minutes. If you have just landed, a pre-booked private transfer at a fixed price from $53 gets you there without changing vehicles – up to 90 minutes of waiting time at the airport are included.
Tips for your visit
Go early to arrive before the day groups. Tawaen Beach has the most facilities, Nual (Monkey Beach) is quieter. For the trip to the pier, a transfer brings you straight from the airport or hotel to Bali Hai.
Good to know
For the way from Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang or U-Tapao Airport to Pattaya, vehicles for 1 to 19 people are available, with a child seat on request and a fixed price with no meter.
