Si Racha sits on the coast halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya, with a busy waterfront, a large expat community and the pier for Koh Si Chang. Book a private transfer to Si Racha or Laem Chabang for a hotel, a serviced apartment or the ferry.
Si Racha is a working coastal town rather than a beach resort. Its waterfront has wooden piers with seafood restaurants, the old town centre has markets and shophouses, and the side streets near Sukhumvit Road are full of Japanese restaurants and supermarkets, a sign of the many engineers and managers who work in the nearby industrial estates. Hotels and serviced apartments here are aimed at business travellers and long stays. From Suvarnabhumi, Motorway 7 brings you to the Si Racha exit, and from there it is a short drive west to the coast. For a longer stay, compare the Chonburi transfer if your address is closer to the provincial capital.
Koh Loi is a small rocky island off the Si Racha waterfront, linked to the mainland by a causeway and topped by a Chinese-Thai temple. The pier next to it is where ferries leave for Koh Si Chang, the island with the former royal summer palace, rocky bays and a quiet fishing town.
More piers and islands are listed on ferry pier transfers.
Laem Chabang lies between Si Racha and Pattaya and is best known for Thailand's main deep-sea port, but the municipality also has housing estates, an industrial estate, shopping centres and the Laem Chabang International Country Club for golfers. Most people heading here are on business, crew changes or visits to the port. Details on the port, the cruise terminal and the surrounding industrial estates are on our EEC industrial estates page; give the exact gate or company name in the booking, as the port area is large.
Si Racha is a good stopover between Bangkok and the east coast. If you have a meeting or a lunch on the waterfront and then continue to Pattaya, book two separate legs or mention the stop in the notes. Pattaya is about 30 km further south, usually 30 to 45 minutes on Sukhumvit Road or the motorway. Bang Saen beach, popular with Bangkok families at weekends, is about 15 km north of Si Racha.
For the trip back, Suvarnabhumi is usually around 1 h 10 min to 1 h 30 min away, longer on Friday and Sunday evenings, when traffic towards Bangkok builds up on Motorway 7. Don Mueang adds the crossing of Bangkok. If you are returning from Koh Si Chang, plan your ferry so that you reach Koh Loi Pier well before the pick-up time; the driver waits at the pier, but the boat timetable is out of his hands.
No. Your transfer ends at Koh Loi Pier, and you buy the ferry ticket separately at the pier.
From the pier at Koh Loi, the small temple island connected to the Si Racha waterfront by a causeway.
About 30 km, usually 30 to 45 minutes by car depending on traffic on Sukhumvit Road.
Yes. Enter the company name and, for the port, the gate or terminal so the driver goes to the right entrance.
Yes, U-Tapao is roughly as far from Si Racha as Suvarnabhumi but avoids Bangkok traffic. Choose the airport that suits your flight.
